Lavander Festival - Stanzia Castellani
Lavander Festival June 23, 24, 25, 2012 Stanzia Castellani, Osor

CELEBRATING THE MARVELS OF CREATION
When visiting the Croatian islands, the famously atheist G.B. Shaw is said to have remarked: "GOD DESIRED TO CROWN HIS WORK AND THUS CREATED THESE ISLANDS"
Cres-Losinj is among the places with the highest in biodiversity in the world. It is the sole habitat of a huge number of unique plant and animal species. Part of the reason the flora and fauna here are so rich is the overlap of Continental and Mediterranean climates.
The island has 939 indigenous plants, among them 230 medical herbs. Some of them you may already know, others we will help you discover and teach you to recognize.
Recently, one of our botanist friends even discovered a new species of orchid here! Although we can’t guarantee that you will also discover a new species, you will definitely find a new appreciation for the fragrant herbs around us.
