Mali Lošinj won the Silver Flower of Europe award

At the ceremony of the international jury for the Golden Flower of Europe held in Cardiff on September 25, 2009 in strong competition among 5700 European cities, Mali Lošinj has won a prestigious international award the Silver Flower of Europe.

The international jury for the Golden Flower of Europe 2009 - Entente Florale Europe, comprising 12 commission members (representatives of 12 member states of the European Association for Flowers and Landscape: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Hungary, Slovenia, Netherlands and the United Kingdom) visited Mali Lošinj in June and, in addition to the beauty of the landscape, assessed cleanliness and quality of created environment, preservation and care of historic heritage, traditional culture, cultural heritage, and education of young people in the Town of Mali Lošinj.

On that occasion, president of the jury Monika Hetch from Austria, said that Lošinj is a green island where lot of attention is given to the arrangement of the environment and nature and how they remained overwhelmed with the project Fragrances and tastes of the island of Lošinj, numerous environmental projects involving young people and obvious concern related to the objects of culture and architecture.

Blue flower goes to... Veli Lošinj!

As a part of the ecological educational action „PLAVI CVIJET 2008“, in which well-tended towns, communities and localities of the Croatian seaside are evaluated, the representatives that will represent the Kvarner area in the grand final have been selected.

Mali Lošinj Tourist Board has won the following awards:

  • first place went to the project Scents and fragrances of Lošinj in the TOURIST OFFER OR INTERESTING FEATURE category
  • in the WELL-TENDED TOWN AS A WHOLE category, first place went to Veli Lošinj
  • first place was won by folk costumes of the island of Susak, Nerezine and Orleca by the author Petrica Poda in the BEST SOUVENIR category
  • in the WELL-TENDED TOWN AS A WHOLE category, Mali Lošinj shares third place with Krk
  • the beach Veli žal in Mali Lošinj won third place in the PUBLIC BEACH category

PLAVI CVIJET (BLUE FLOWER)

Rating of landscape architecture and design of towns, municipalities and villages of coastal Croatia.

The town of Mali Lošinj won 2nd place in the Best-landscaped Tourist Town of the Primorje-Gorje County category.

County-level winners in the Tourism Offer Component Design category include:

  • Public Beach – Veli žal, Sunčana uvala, Mali Lošinj, 2nd place
  • Souvenir – ceramic products produced by the Čarobnjak Studio, Mali Lošinj, Mr. Čazim Mehmeti, 1st place
  • Kvarner Region Projects and Attractions - Miomirisi i okusi Lošinja (Scents and Tastes of Lošinj), 3rd place
  • Petrol Station – Tifon, Nerezine, 3rd place

WORKER OF THE YEAR

Selection of the best tourist worker of the Kvarner Region in 2007.

  • Reception Worker of the Year – Ms. Ružica Pušeljić, receptionist at the Aurora Hotel, Jadranka Hoteli, Mali Lošinj;
  • Inspector of the Year – Mr. Neven Nekić, inspector working for the Mali Lošinj State Inspectorate Office;
  • Beach and Pool Lifeguard – Mr. Goran Herenda, a lifeguard at the beach of the Punat Tourist Complex, Jadranka Hoteli, Mali Lošinj.

TOURIST FLOWER – Quality for Croatia

Campaign run by the Croatian Radio Television in cooperation with the Croatian Chamber of Commerce. Mali Lošinj was declared the best Croatian tourist destination on the Croatian Adriatic coast.

PRIMORSKI RADIO – PRIMORSKO JEDRO

Primorsko jedro is the name of the campaign run by Primorski radio in which the best small tourist place in the Kvarner Region is selected. Veli Lošinj was the winner of the 2007 Primorsko jedro.
